Morgan Bills joins the Roos volleyball coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2016 season. 

“Morgan and Rachel will be great additions to our coaching staff,” Head Coach Danielle Swanston said. “As a player Morgan was a huge part of building the program and assisting in its success. She has great knowledge and passion for the game. Rachel has spent the last four years with the team and has been a tremendous leader for the program, serving as captain during three of those four seasons. I look forward to her continuing those leadership skills. I am excited to see Morgan and Rachel’s contributions as they transition to coaching as we continue to develop our program into a power in the region.”

Bills a competed on the SUNY Canton volleyball team from 2012-2015, joining the program in just its second season. The Roos went an unprecedented 111-33 during her four-year playing career.

Following her senior season she became the first SUNY Canton volleyball player to be named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) New York First Team All-Region and an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Second Team All-Star. In addition, Bills was a two-time United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) First Team All-American, named to the Second Team once and the All-Tournament Team her freshman season.

Bills finished her career with remarkable numbers as she posted 1,069 kills (2.66/set), while registering a .345 hitting percentage on 2,456 attack attempts. The Walworth, NY native also totaled 306 blocks (0.76/set) and added 177 service aces.

“After being a student-athlete and watching this program grow for the four years I played I am more than excited to be able to give back to the SUNY Canton women’s volleyball program,” Bills said. “I look forward to assisting the team and helping the players continue to develop and progress their skills.”
