Molly Denny joins the women's lacrosse coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2021 season after a storied career playing for the Roos.
Denny was a four-year player and three-year captain for the women's lacrosse team, and graduated in 2020 as the fourth all-time leading scorer for the program with 179 points, despite having her final season cut short in 2020. Denny led the Roos to the 2019 NAC Championship while collecting All-Tournament Team recognition. The 2019 NAC Champions were the first SUNY Canton team ever to earn a trip to an NCAA National Championship tournament. She was a three-time NAC Player of the Week, a First Team All-Conference selection, and was chosen by league head coaches as the NAC Player of the Year in 2019. Denny was also a nominee for the 2020 NAC Woman of the Year award.
She earned Honor's List, Dean's List, and made six appearances on the President's List in pursuit of her Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology. Throughout her career, Denny earned a spot on the NAC All-Academic Team twice, and on the USCAA and IWLS All-Academic Teams prior to the Roos entering the conference. Impressively, Denny was selected as the SUNY Canton Student Athlete of the Year twice - as a sophomore and as a junior. She volunteered for several community events including the Special Olympics, community clean-up days, and a fundraiser for the Hope Lodge to support patients receiving cancer treatments.
