Zach Denesha

Zach Denesha was promoted to the lead assistant for the varsity men's basketball program in July 2025. He assisted the varsity team during the 2024-25 season while also serving as head coach of the SUNY Canton junior varsity men's basketball program during the 2024-25 season.

Denesha was a three-year player for the Roos during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, while also a member of the roster during the 2020-21 COVID season. He appeared in 23 career games making one start while scoring 25 points and posting 26 rebounds. Prior to his time with the Roos, Denesha played four years of varsity high school basketball locally at Hermon-DeKalb.

"After concluding his time with us as a student-athlete we are very excited to bring Zach on board to lead our new JV program," Head Varsity Men's Basketball Coach Dylan Seikel said at the time of his hiring. "Zach knows what it takes to be a successful student-athlete as he knows our program well and we look forward to him helping develop our players."

Denesha was named to multiple North Atlantic Conference All-Academic Teams during his time with the Roos and will graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management from SUNY Canton. The DeKalb native earned First Team All-Northern honors in basketball his senior year, and Second Team All-Northern his sophomore and junior seasons.

"I would like to thank Coach Seikel and the SUNY Canton Athletics department for the opportunity to lead our newly formed JV men's basketball program," Denesha said. "I enjoyed my time as a player in the Roos program and I am looking forward to helping develop our players both on and off the court to help lead our team to success."
