Kahdean Bennett enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the SUNY Canton men's basketball program during the 2020-21 academic year.
Bennett begins his coaching career after playing for the Roos for four seasons from 2016-2020. He was the starting point guard for 2019-2020 team that won a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championship and competed in the NCAA Tournament.
Bennett played in 75 games over four years for the Roos, finishing with career-bests of 99 points and 61 assists during his senior season. He rounded out his career with a pair of conference championships (NAC: 2019-20, ACAA: 2016-17). He also was a member of the team that made the first ECAC Tournament appearance in program history following the 2016-17 season.Â
"Kahdean was a fearless competitor and leader for our championship team last year," Senthil said. "He embodies everything we believe and preach in our program. I am confident that Kahdean will be able to step in and immediately show our current players what it takes to be a champion. We are ecstatic to have Coach Bennett join our staff."
Bennett hails from Bronx, NY. He graduated from SUNY Canton in May of 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice.Â
