Rome, NY – Freshman Carter Johnson and the SUNY Canton men's golf team both finished third at the SUNY Poly Invitational at Teugega Country Club on Monday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Johnson recorded a round of 73 on the par 70 course shooting 35 (-1) on the front nine and 38 (+4) on the back nine. He recorded three birdies and 10 pars on the day to finish in a tie for third place out of 25 golfers.
• Kahontiio Lazore posted a round of 76 (37-39) with 13 pars as he tied for eighth place. Casey Jacobs wasn't far behind at 78 (40-38) registering 10 pars to finish in 13th place. Mason Dumas rounded out Canton's golfers with an 81 (39-42) posting a birdie and six pars to place 15th.
• The Roos placed third out of five teams with 308 strokes ahead of Cobleskill (336) and Poly (344). Utica won the team event with 291 strokes edging out Hamilton's B squad (298).
