Canton, NY – Mack Lazare recorded two shots on goal and freshman Braydn Bovee made four saves in a SUNY Canton men's SUNYAC soccer match against SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday afternoon.  Prior to the game the team honored Lazare, the Roos sole senior.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Roos had two opportunities to score in the 38^th minute.  Sophomore Josh Kubik had a shot blocked and Lazare blasted a shot from a throw in that goal keeper Sean Hanrahan had difficulty handling but no further damage could be done.
• In the 57^th minute, Canton was putting on the pressure again as sophomore Greg Vescovi put a shot just wide of the net off another Hanrahan fumble.
• Although the Roos controlled momentum throughout much of the second half, they could not find the back of the net and the game would finish as a 0-0 tie.  With the tie, the Roos earn a valuable point in the SUNYAC standings.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Both Lazare and freshman Andrew Rine recorded two shots on goal.
• The Roos led in shots (28-7), shots on goal (8-4) and corner kicks (12-2)
• Bovee made four stops for the Roos while Sean Hanrahan had eight saves for the Tigers.
