Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's soccer team made the short trip across town Wednesday afternoon to take on neighboring St. Lawrence. The Roos ultimately fell to the Saints, 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Paige McLaughlin of the Saints kicked off the scoring early with a goal at the 8:21 mark. Zoe Rogan and Sydney Keenan received credit for assists on the play.
• Lily Murphy got on the board with five minutes remaining in the first half to put the Saints up 2-0.
• St. Lawrence kept things rolling into the second half as McLaughlin found the back of the net once more, putting the Saints up 3-0 eight minutes after intermission.
• The Roos could not find their footing as the second period ticked away, eventually dropping Wednesday's contest as the clock hit zeroes.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Nicole Morrow tallied 18 saves between the pipes for Canton, the most by a Roo this season. Morrow's performance puts her at eighth all-time in the SUNY Canton D-III era record book for saves in a game, a mark shared by seven others.
• St. Lawrence recorded 21 shots on goal while the Roos were unable to hit their target throughout the match. Rogan led the way with five SOG.
• The Saints outpaced Canton in corner kicks, 10-1. Both squads were even in fouls at seven apiece.
• SLU has stayed hot all season, outscoring opponents 13-3 through 10 games played.
