Canton, NY – Reigning Empire 8 Men's Golfer of the Week Raine Rumble tied for second individually shooting an even par 72, while junior Kahontiio Lazore carded a round of 74 (+2) to tie for sixth as the SUNY Canton men's golf team hosted the SUNY Canton Invitational at Partridge Run Golf & Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Rumble shot three under (33) on the front nine with three birdies and six pars. Meanwhile, he went three over on the back with three bogeys and six pars. He finished just a single stroke back of Clarkson's Sam DuPont, who earned medalist honors with a 71 (-1).
• Lazore posted equal 37's on both the front and back nine totaling two birdies, four bogeys and 12 pars on his round to tie for sixth individually. Carter Johnson shot a 77 (+5) shooting one under (35) on the front with a 42 on the back nine. He tallied three birdies, eight pars, six bogeys and a double.
• Sam Eells shot a season-low 80 (+8) playing as an individual. He recorded a birdie, 10 pars, six bogeys and a triple. Tyler Martin concluded the scoring players for the Roos A team with an 81 (42-39) tallying a birdie, seven pars and 10 bogeys. Mason Dumas was right on his heels with an 82 (41-41) registering one birdie on his round.
• Casey Jacobs paced Canton's B team with an 81 (40-41) tallying a birdie. Brody Fuhrey recorded an 83 (43-40), while Owen Sacks, Dylan Braswell and Blake Morrill all posted 87's. Harlee Besio rounded out the Canton golfers with an 88.
• Clarkson's DuPont earned medalist honors with a 71 (35-36) posting five birdies on his round to lead the Knights B team.
• Clarkson A won the team event with a 292 (+4), while Clarkson B was second (299). The Roos were third with 304 strokes ahead of St. Lawrence's JV squad (307) and Clarkson C (314).
