Canton, NY – Chris McLean, a senior on the baseball team, and Kate Whitley, a freshman on the women's lacrosse team, have been named this week's Roos of the Week.

McLean hit .600 (6-for-10) over two games last week recording a double, home run, scoring four times and driving in four runs McLean went 3-for-5 with a homer, double, scored three runs and drove in a pair of runs in the Roos opening game in Myrtle Beach on Saturday. He scored in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings as he led off the seventh with a solo shot to left field to get Canton within 8-7 as they overcame an 8-0 first inning deficit to eventually tie the game at 8-8 in the top of the eighth. On Sunday he went 3-for-5 with driving in two runs in a 12-6 loss to Penn State Beaver. In the field he had a perfect fielding percentage on the week with three putouts in three chances.

Whitley had an impressive game defensively for the Roos posting game-highs of nine ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 9-2 road win at SUNY Poly on Wednesday. Whitley's nine ground balls are the third most by any Canton player in program history. The rookie was pivotal to a Roos defense that allowed just two goals over 60 minutes of action combining to hold the Wildcats scoreless in both the second and fourth quarters.
