Canton, NY – Sal Diaz, a senior on the baseball team, and
Brady Frost, a freshman on the men's lacrosse team, have been named this week's Roos of the Week.
Diaz had a monster week at the plate hitting .636 (7-for-11) with three homers, a double, seven RBI and 17 total bases leading the Roos to a 3-1 record in a pair of non-conference doubleheaders last weekend. He opened the week combining to go 3-for-6 with a double, a home run and three RBI as Canton split a doubleheader against Baruch on Friday with a 5-4 win and 7-6 loss. On Saturday the senior was dominant going 4-for-5 with two homers, two runs and four RBI in an 11-0 and 17-2 sweep of Lehman. He also drew three walks on the week finishing with a .667 on-base % and a 1.545 slugging %. Diaz was also perfect in the field behind the dish in two games recording 15 put outs in 15 chances.
Frost combined for nine points on five goals and four assists to go with eight ground balls and two caused turnovers as the Roos split a pair of games last week. He opened the week with a goal and assist and added six ground balls in a 15-5 road loss at Alfred on Wednesday. The freshman closed out the week with seven points on a game-best three assists to go with four goals and a pair of ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 19-2 road win at Hilbert on Saturday.
