Buffalo, NY – Hope Aniceto drained seven threes on 11 attempts to help push the SUNY Canton women's basketball team past the Buffalo State Bengals 73-44 Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- SUNY Canton started the game hot from the field by making five of their first seven attempts to go ahead 10-0 in just three minutes.
- Buffalo State, who struggled with turnovers and missed shots early, got it going after a timeout was called and brought the game to within 16-12, but a couple free throws by Sierra Pabo and a three by Aniceto pushed the SUNY Canton advantage up to 21-12 at the end of the first quarter.
- The Roos scored 12 of the first 15 points in the second quarter with Aniceto adding two more threes to her total.
- A bucket by Alyvia Roberts gave SUNY Canton a 38-17 lead with one minute remaining and the Roos were leading 40-22 at the half. Aniceto already had 17 points with five three pointers and Pabo was also in double figures with 10 points.
- Aniceto's three-point barrage continued into the third quarter with the senior hitting another one 15 seconds in, then again with 6:05 left to play.
- SUNY Canton expanded their lead even more in the third quarter, ending the segment up 61-33 with seven different players finding the scoring column.
- Offense cooled off a bit in the fourth quarter, but the Roos still put on a strong offensive performance in a 73-44 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Aniceto's seven makes from distance is tied for the 4th-most in D3-program history and was her second most makes from behind the line this season (8 vs BSC Syracuse 12/1/15).
- Pabo had a nice bounce back game scoring wise with 14 points, while also leading SUNY Canton with eight rebounds and four assists. Kat McRobbie-Taru blocked four shots which was tied for the 3rd-highest in a single game in the D3-era.
- Chyann Kelly was the only Bengal to score in double digits with 12 points on three made three-pointers.
- The Roos shot 36% (24-66) and held the hosts to just 26% shooting (17-65) on the day. After a rough day from beyond the arc yesterday, the Roos made nine of 21 from distance. SUNY Canton also outrebounds the Bengals (48-41), forced 23 turnovers, and scored 25 points off those turnovers.
