Rumble Finishes Fifth, Lazore Tenth at SLU Invitational

Canton, NY – Freshman Raine Rumble fired a team-best round of 1-over par, 73, on Sunday to finish with a two-day total of 6-over par, 150 to finish in a tie for fifth place out of 70 golfers at the St. Lawrence Invitational at Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course. The Roos finished in eighth place out of 13 teams.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Rumble went out in 37 on Sunday before coming home in 36. He recorded three birdies (holes 4, 5 and 11), 11 pars and four bogeys and was just seven strokes behind Clarkson's Ryan Makowski (-1), who won the event.
  • Kahontiio Lazore followed up his 75 on Saturday with a 77 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 10th place with 152 strokes. He shot 39 on the front and 38 on the back on Sunday registering a birdie (hole 8), 11 pars and six bogeys.
  • Anthony Marion tied for 30th overall with 159 strokes shooting an 80 on Sunday after a 79 on Saturday. He went out in 39 and came home in 41.
  • The SUNY Canton A team finished in eighth place with 636 strokes (325-311), while the B team was 13th with 705 strokes (359-346).
  • Clarkson won the team title with 599 strokes edging out St. Lawrence (609) and Hobart (611).
