Mackenzie Ryan made eight saves on Saturday afternoon, but the SUNY Canton women's soccer team dropped their SUNYAC opener 6-0 to Fredonia State.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maddy Bronwyn got Fredonia on the board early, scoring the game's first goal just two minutes into the first half.
- Allie Trombley doubles the Devil's lead five minutes later to give her team the 2-0 lead.
- Bronwyn's second goal of the game in the 16th minutes and another from Mckenna Szmarz in the 38th minute extended Fredonia's lead in to 4-0.
- Haley Drinon scored on a late first half penalty kick to put the Devils up 5-0 at halftime.
- Fredonia struck again in the 68th minute when Grace Mackey scored, but the Roos defense tightened up in the second half, allowing just that one shot on goal in the half.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Bronwyn led the way with two goals while teammate Kerrigan Driscoll recorded two assists.
- Freshman Gabby Richardson recorded the lone shot on goal for the Roos.
- The Devils dominated the stat sheet, leading in shots (24-2), shots on goal (14-1) and corner kicks (16-0).
- Ryan finished with eight saves making all eight in the first half. Abby Szymkowiak stopped one shot for Fredonia in 90 minutes.
