Ryan Records 14 Saves in Conference Road Tilt at Oswego

Oswego, NY – Mackenzie Ryan recorded 14 saves, her second most of the season, in a 6-0 SUNYAC road loss at Oswego State on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos held the Lakers scoreless early on before Olivia Davis found the back of the net on a sharp-angled shot into the upper 90.
  • The hosts doubled their lead less than four minutes later when Brianna Winkler kept the ball in play on the endline passed a charging Mackenzie Ryan as Kaylee Elliott finished into the open net.
  • The Lakers made it 3-0 four minutes later in the 23rd minute when Kyla Sustad beat a pair of defenders and Winkler redirected a cross into the back of the net.
  • Just less than three minutes before intermission Sabrina Schmitt converted off a Canton goal kick placing a left-footed shot into the right corner of net.
  • The Lakers owned a 17-0 shots advantage taking a 4-0 lead on the scoreboard into intermission.
  • Luz De Luna Catano-Matip and Jillian Brosnan tacked on goals in the first four minutes of the second half leading to the 6-0 final.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • The Lakers held advantages in shots (35-0), shots on goal (20-0) and corner kicks (9-0).
  • Winkler paced Oswego with a goal and assist.
  • Ryan made 14 saves in the contest upping her season total to 89 stops.
  • Paytyn Crane, Keely Cooney and Lamia Kosick did not face a shot on goal while combining for the shutout for the hosts.
