Men’s Hockey Announces 2025-26 Schedule

Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's hockey team and Head Coach Alex Boak have announced the program's 2025-26 schedule. The Roos will play a 25 game regular season schedule that features 12 home games and 18 league games in the team's second season in the SUNYAC.

Following an exhibition, the Roos open the regular season with a weekend series at home against Trine (10/31) and Misericordia (11/2). After a non-league weekend with games at Nazareth (11/7) and Elmira (11/8), SUNY Canton opens SUNYAC play when they host Potsdam on November 14th. The next night the team welcomes Hamilton to Terry Martin Arena in non-conference action.

The Roos continue SUNYAC play with home games against Oswego (11/21) and three-time defending national champion, Hobart (11/22). The team will head up Route 11 for a rare midweek day matchup against Potsdam starting at 11 a.m. on November 25th, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. This will give area kids a chance to pack the stands and attend the game.

The team picks up play following Thanksgiving and wraps up the 2025 portion of their schedule with SUNYAC games at Morrisville and Cortland on December 5th and 6th, respectively.

The Roos kick off the 2026 calendar with a non-league game at perennially nationally-ranked Utica on January 4th before finishing the regular season with 13 SUNYAC contests.

League home games in 2026 include Fredonia (1/9), Buffalo State (1/10), Cortland (2/6), Morrisville (2/7), Skidmore (2/20) and Plattsburgh (2/21), while road contests include Plattsburgh (1/16), Skidmore (1/17), Potsdam (1/23), Hobart (1/30), Oswego (1/31), Buffalo State (2/13) and Fredonia (2/14).

The Roos will look to qualify for their second straight SUNYAC Tournament with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds hosting first round matchups on February 25th. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds host semifinal contests on February 28th. The highest remaining seed will host the SUNYAC Championship on March 7th. The winner of the SUNYAC Tournament earns the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
