Oneonta, NY – Sophomore
Eliezer Vazquez led the Roos on Saturday afternoon in a road conference matchup against Oneonta. Vazquez notched an RBI in the first inning to score junior
Chris McLean and later recorded a run in the top of the seventh inning to lead the Roos in a 13-2 loss against the Red Dragons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos jumped out early as McLean scored the opening run of the game after an RBI from Vazquez.
- The Red Dragons evened the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the first inning. Oneonta added six runs in the bottom of the second inning to make the game 7-1 in favor of the hosts. The Red Dragons added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning
- Canton opened the fifth inning with junior Lance Phillips Jr being hit by a pitch and eventually making his way to third base during the inning on a wild pitch. Junior Edilberto Rosado also drew a walk during his plate appearance in the fifth inning. The Roos were not able to bring either runner home during the inning.
- The Red Dragons added one run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
- Senior Bradley Mills walked during his plate appearance in the top of the sixth inning but was left on base.
- Oneonta again added one run in the bottom of the sixth.
- Canton did everything they could in the top of the seventh as the Roos put three runners on base during the frame. Freshman Carlos Planas also added a base hit during the top of the seventh inning. Vazquez crossed home during the inning on a wild pitch ending the game at 13-2 in favor of the Red Dragons
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Sophomore AJ Campi took the loss for the Roos while James Torres earned the win for Oneonta.
- The Roos had four walks in the game as Mills, Vazquez each recorded one. Rosado drew two walks in three plate appearances in the contest. Rosado also registered an RBI.
- Logan Hutter and Josh Gilkey led the Red Dragons with a combined three hits and seven RBI in the contest.
- James Torres earned the win tossing five innings with five strikeouts and a walk.
