Fuhrey & McCall Both Top 20 After Third Round of Empire 8 Championship

Lebanon, PA – Brody Fuhrey and John McCall recorded rounds of 84 and 87, respectively, as both players are tied for 19th after the third round of the Empire 8 Championship as the teams competed at Lebanon Country Club on Friday. Anthony Marion carded a round of 79, tied for fifth best in the field on the day, just eight strokes back of St. John Fisher's Nick Tellone.  

This marks the third round of the 2024-25 championship. The first 36 holes were in the fall at Lake Shore Yacht & Country Club on October 6th and 7th. To be eligible for the individual title a player must play in all four rounds of the championship.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Marion went out in 41 on Friday coming home in 38, finishing with 11 pars on the round. Fuhrey went out in 39 before coming home in 45 recording 10 pars and a birdie on the day.
  • Kahontiio Lazore joined Fuhrey with an 84 on Friday going out in 44 and coming home in 40. He registered seven pars and a birdie. McCall posted an 87 (41-46) on Friday with eight pars.
  • Kyle Murphy and Tyler Martin rounded out the Canton golfers on Friday with rounds of 96 (45-51) and 97 (50-47), respectively.
  • After three rounds the Roos sit in sixth place out of eight teams with 1027 strokes ahead of Keuka (1047) and SUNY Poly (1101). St. John Fisher (910) leads the team race over Nazareth (943), Utica (971) and Oswego (975).
  • St. John Fisher's Nick Tellone and Nazareth's Lincoln Crosby are tied with 227 strokes over three rounds.
