AJ Campi and junior 
Sal Diaz both recorded multiple hits during the doubleheader Friday afternoon against the Red Dragons. Diaz also recorded one RBI on the day as well but it was not enough as the Roos fell 16-4 and 14-0 to the visitors from SUNY Cortland.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
	- The Red Dragons and Roos both started off with one hit during the first inning of play but neither team was able to gain an advantage during the inning. Junior Mark Maybee Jr. led the way in the first inning with a single to right center but eventually was thrown out in the inning.
- The Red Dragons unfortunately notched four hits during the second inning that led to six runs in the frame for the visitors. After an error with two outs all six of the runs came across unearned.
- The Roos started to gain some momentum during the bottom of the third inning as junior Edilberto Rosado walked to begin the inning. Senior Alphonse Fuca was then hit by a pitch the next at bat which advanced Rosado to second base. Campi singled to load the bases for the Roos. Rosado scored on a wild pitch and the Roos notched their first run of the afternoon.
- Cortland added three runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning.
- Sophomore Eliezer Vazquez reached base during the bottom of the fourth on an error by the visitors. Cortland followed that error with another error as junior Lance Phillips brought home Vazquez during the next at bat.
- The visiting Red Dragons added four runs in the top of the fifth inning, three of which came on a homerun by Luke Schartner.
- In the bottom of the fifth inning the hosts added one run as Campi scored on a base hit from Vazquez.
- The Red Dragons added one run in the sixth and again in the seventh before freshman Liam Hohertz added a single and was brought home on a double from Diaz.
- Schartner led the Red Dragons with three hits including a homer, two doubles as he drove in a whopping nine runs. Chris Bonacci, Dylan Tierney and Nolan Smith all had two hits each.
- Luis Misla picked up the win allowing two earned runs with 10 strikeouts and three walks in five innings.
- Hunter LaValley took the loss allowing 14 runs, 10 of which were unearned, with three strikeouts and four walks in 4.2 innings. Anthony Favorito tossed 2.1 innnings in relief allowing one earned run with a strikeout and walk.
 
GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
	- The Roos opened the game holding the Red Dragons scoreless in the first inning but the visitors' bats came alive in the second scoring four runs on four hits.
- The Red Dragons again added one run in the top of the third inning and three runs in the fourth.
- In the bottom of the fourth inning Diaz added his second hit of the day with a single but the Roos were unable to bring him home in the inning.
- Phillips Jr. singled to right center during the bottom of the fifth inning.
- Fuca opened the bottom of the sixth inning with a single to right field and advanced all the way to third base in the inning after a hit by Campi but the Roos remained scoreless.
- The visitors again added one run in the top of the seventh
- Senior Bradley Mills singled to center field in the bottom of the seventh inning.
- The Red Dragons tacked on five runs on four hits and an error in the ninth inning for the 14-0 final.
- Schartner paced Cortland with three hits in the nightcap, while Zachary Kringdon, Mitchell Kelly and Tierney had two hits each.
- Matthew Nochowitz improved to 3-0 on the season throwing seven innings of scoreless ball with 11 strikeouts. Tommy Lynch threw the final two innings as he didn't allow a hit and struck out five.
- Javier Chico took the loss allowing eight earned runs with five strikeouts and three walks in four innings. Adam Cook, Keegan Franklin and Tim Vos finished out the final five innings in relief.
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
These two teams are scheduled for another single nine-inning game on Saturday in Canton at 1 p.m. The original start time has been pushed back by one hour.
