Potsdam, NY – Jonney Mclear scored a pair of first quarter goals to give the Roos an early lead but the Bears outscored Canton 18-0 over the final three quarters to earn a 24-2 win in the SUNYAC opener for both teams in chilly conditions on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mclear netted his 11th and 12th goals of the season to give Canton a 2-1 lead just over five minutes into the game. From there it was all Bears. Potsdam scored the final five goals of the first quarter to lead 6-2 after 15 minutes of play.
- The hosts completely controlled play in the second stanza outscoring the Roos 10-0 to take a 16-2 lead into intermission.
- The Bears outscored Canton 4-0 in both the third and fourth quarters for the 24-2 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Mclear led the Roos with two goals, while Austin Mesler had an assist. Caeden Goodnough, Sam Servati and Hayden Todd picked up four ground balls each.
- Owen Walsh paced Potsdam with six goals and two assists, while Billy Kozloski scored four times. Tyler Gould added two goals and four assists, while Ryan Hughes finished with two goals and two assists.
- Todd made nine saves allowing 16 goals in the first half, while Servati turned aise nine shots surrendering eight scores in the second half.
- Liam O'Neil stopped four shots allowing two goals in the win in the first half for the Bears. Saka Thompson and Chris Wilk played the third and fourth quarters, respectively, combining to make four saves.
- The Bears controlled shots on goal (42-10), ground balls (57-31) and faceoffs (23-7).
