Hayden Todd made 18 saves to lead the SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team to a 12-8 comeback win on the road at Castleton on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Castleton got on the board first about six minutes into the game.
- The Roos responded when Jonney Mclear found Mesler for his first goal of the season. Two minutes later Mesler assisted Goodnough on a man-up goal as Canton led 2-1 after 15 minutes of action.
- Canton extended their lead to 3-1 less than six minutes into the second stanza on Mclear's third goal of the season.
- Cam Frankenhoff caged back-to-back goals for Castleton including one with 10 seconds left in the first half to knot things up at 3-3 at intermission.
- Carter Frankenhoff netted his second goal of the game to give the Spartans the lead early in the second half but the Roos responded with goals from Goodnough and Mesler to lead 5-4.
- The teams exchanged goals with Carter Frankenhoff scoring his third of the game and Goodnough also completing the hat trick as Canton led 6-5 with just over five minutes left in the third.
- Castleton netted back-to-back tallies in the final 93 seconds of the third to take a 7-6 lead to the fourth.
- The Spartans extended their lead to two (8-6) with another Carter Frankenhoff goal early in the fourth but from there it was all Roos as they rattled off six straight goals, four of which were from the stick of Mesler, to earn the 12-8 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Mesler led all players with eight points on six goals and two assists, while Goodnough tallied four goals and Mclear scored twice and assisted another to go with three ground balls. Liam Waite picked up four ground balls for Canton and went 13-for-21 on faceoffs.
- Carter Frankenhoff paced Castleton with four goals, while Cam Frankenhoff had three. Gabe Rubio caused five turnovers to go with three ground balls for the Spartan defense.
- Shots on goal were even at 26 apiece with the Roos holding the upper hand in ground balls (19-14) and faceoffs (15-9). Canton went 3-for-8 with the extra man while Castleton was 0-for-5.
