Alyssa Townsley made 25 saves but the SUNY Canton women's hockey dropped a close 2-1 decision to #7 Oswego State on Saturday afternoon. After the game, the team celebrated Senior Day by honoring
Kamryn Barnes with an on-ice ceremony.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers scored two first period goals off the sticks of Leah Coley and Jenna Majewski to take an early 2-0 lead through one.
- After a scoreless second period, Cote got the Roos back within one, picking up a loose puck on a rebound and depositing it past goaltender Lexi Levy. The goal was scored at 7:40 and was assisted by Barnes and freshman Taryn Oloriz.
- Canton pulled Townsely with under two minutes to play in the game and almost tied the game with the extra attacker on an Anna Pavlasova shot. The rebound kicked just wide but the Roos couldn't convert on the play. Oswego would close out the game for the 2-1 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Roos outshot Oswego 35-27. Pavlasova and sophomore Riley Andzel led the Roos with six shots on net each.
- The Lakers won the faceoff battle (30-23) with Oloriz leading the Roos, going 11/17 at the dot.
- Both teams went 0/3 on the power play.
- Townsley made 25 saves for the Roos while Levi stopped 34 for the Lakers.

The Roos travel to play two SUNYAC games at #8 Plattsburgh State on Friday, February 14
th and Saturday, February 15
