Plattsburgh, NY – Sophomore
Molly Lenihan stopped a career-high 47 shots, but the SUNY Canton women's hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision against #8 ranked Plattsburgh State on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lenihan kept the Cardinals off the scoresheet for nearly the first 40 minutes of play. Plattsburgh's Kayson Ruegge scored at the 18:09 mark of the second with an assist to Tessa Morris to break the scoreless tie.
- The Cardinal's Molly Riggi made it 2-0 just over a minute later and with just 20 seconds left in the period. Her goal was assisted by Mae Olshansky and Mattie Norton.
- Riggi scored an empty net goal with less than two minutes remaining in the third period after Canton pulled Lenihan in favor of the extra-attacker.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Roos directed 17 shots on net with sophomore Riley Andzel leading the team with four.
- The Cardinals led at the faceoff dot (40-23) with Isabella Paswaters winning nine for Canton.
- The Roos were 0/1 on the power play while Plattsburgh was 0/2.
- Lenihan was excellent, stopping 47 shots and surrendering just two goals while Chloe Lewis stopped all 17 shots for the Cardinals to earn the shutout.
