Daniel Aviles threw three innings of no-hit ball to earn the win in the nightcap as the Roos split a doubleheader against Baruch at Lasorda Legacy Park on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- Baruch jumped out to an early lead in the opener scoring a pair of runs on an RBI double in the top of the first.
- The Roos got one back in the fourth when Chris McLean scored on a wild pitch.
- The Bearcats exploded for seven runs on three hits as they were aided by four walks in a big fifth inning.
- That proved to be all the Bearcats needed to earn the win in the opener.
- Alphonse Fuca, Edilberto Rosado and Mark Maybee Jr. all had doubles for the Roos, while Bradley Mills also had a single.
- John Kim earned the win tossing the complete game allowing one earned run with six strikeouts and a walk.
- AJ Campi took the loss for Canton surrendering two earned runs with two strikeouts and four walks in 1.1 innings.

GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
- The Bearcats once again took an early lead in the nightcap with one run each in the first and third innings before adding a pair of runs in the fifth.
- Canton responded with a big seventh inning plating four runs to tie the game. Maybee Jr. singled home Tom Santo before Sal Diaz plated Maybee Jr. and McLean on a two RBI single down the left field line. Eliezer Vazquez concluded the scoring in the inning when he brought across Diaz on an RBI base hit down the left field line.
- Campi drew a leadoff walk in the ninth and stole second before Diaz was intentionally walked. Maxwell Rose moved the runners up 90 feet with a sacrifice before Fuca was intentionally walked to load the bases. With one out Phillips Jr. came up clutch with a single up the middle to score Campi for the walk-off win.
- Diaz, Phillips Jr. and Maybee Jr. had two hits each for the Roos while combining to drive in four runs. Vazquez had a hit and RBI, while McLean, Mills, Fuca and Derek Maldonado had the other Canton hits.
- Aviles picked up the win tossing the final three innings without allowing a single hit or run with a pair of strikeouts. Kayden Guerin was credited with the no-decision tossing three innings allowing two earned with a strikeout and walk. Hunter LaValley threw the middle three innings surrendering one earned run with three strikeouts and two walks.
- The win is the first for Head Coach Ryan Stevens at the helm of the Roos.
