Plattsburgh, NY – The SUNY Canton women's hockey team faced #8 Plattsburgh State on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 4-0 decision in a SUNYAC league contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mattie Norton opened the scoring for the Cardinals at 3:36 of the first, collecting a rebound and roofing a shot over the shoulder of sophomore Molly Lenihan.
- Plattsburgh's Bridget Orr poked home another rebound at 5:41 of the first period to put the Cardinals up 2-0.
- Orr struck again at 4:33 of the second period, tipping a crossing pass through a sliding Lenihan to give the Cardinals a 3-0 lead.
- Mae Olshansky scored a power play marker at 15:58 of the third to close out the games scoring and giving Plattsburgh the 4-0 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Cardinals outshot the Roos 31-18 with junior Jane Pancoe collecting four shots on goal to lead Canton.
- Plattsburgh had a 34-16 edge at the face off dot. Sophomores Kylah Small and Isabella Paswaters as well as freshman Taryn Oloriz all had five wins each.
- The Roos were 0/3 on the power play while Plattsburgh was 1/4 with the extra player.
- Lenihan finished the game with 27 saves while her counterpart Chloe Lewis had 18 stops.
