- Location: Manning & Napier Varsity Gym – Rochester, NY

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos surrendered the game's first six points, but then went on a 9-0 run and later led 16-10 with 15:33 to play in a high scoring first segment.
- St. John Fisher though went on an 11-3 run to restore their lead at 21-19. The Cardinals' offensive efficiency continued for a while as they opened up a 28-23 advantage with 8:13 remaining in the first half.
- SUNY Canton tied it up at 35 off a free throw by Jahdeuir Reese but never led the rest of the half. The hosting Cardinals led 48-43 after the first 20 minutes. Both Malaki Smith and Chris Nastasi were in double figures with 12 and 10 points respectively and the duo combined for 7-for-7 from the field.
- The Roos struggled to get stops early in the second half and found themselves down 60-49 four minutes in. However, a couple layups from Byron Streb plus a bucket by Eugene Johnson Jr. brought it back to within four after a 7-0 run.
- The Cardinals though, immediately responded with back-to-back three pointers to get their lead back up to ten.
- The Roos were moderately efficient scoring the rest of the way, but did not climb back to within 10 points. St. John Fisher had a response to every SUNY Canton bucket and then some more. The Cardinals slowly expanded their lead, going up 88-68 with 1:12 left to play and then went on to finish the game 90-72.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

- The Cardinals had balanced scoring with seven players putting up at at least eight points. Jonathan McCaffrey led all scorers with 16. Andrew Violante made three shots from beyond the arc en route to his 12-point performance and contributed on defense with five steals.
