Rumble Second, Marion Third as Roos Sit Third after Opening Round of Nazareth Invite

Victor, NY – Freshman Raine Rumble shot a 71 (-1) on Sunday and senior Anthony Marion fired a 72 (E) as the duo sits in second and third place, respectively, after the opening round of the two-day Nazareth Invitational. The Roos are in third place after the 18-hole portion at Ravenwood Golf Club on Sunday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Rumble went out in even par 36 and came home in one under 35 recording a pair of birdies on his round. Marion shot 35 on the front nine and 37 on the back nine with three total birdies.
  • Sam Eells posted an 80 (38-42) with one birdie to sit in a tie for 15th out of the 33 golfers. Tyler Martin rounded out the scorers for Canton with an 82 (42-40).
  • Owen Sacks competed as an individual shooting an 86 (44-42) with one birdie, while Kyle Murphy carded a 90 (44-46).
  • After the opening round the Roos sit third out of six teams with 305 strokes, just one stroke back of second place Utica and five strokes behind first place Oswego State.
  • Utica's Aydin Parekh is in first place with a 70 (-2) just one stroke ahead of Rumble and two ahead of Marion with 18 holes of play left on Monday.
