Lazore Earns Medalist Honors, Roos Second at Jay Peak

Jay, VT – Kahontiio Lazore fired a round of nine-over par, 81, in extremely difficult conditions to earn medalist honors out of 19 golfers in the Lou Jarvis Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Jay Peak Resort Golf Course.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lazore went out in two-over 38 before coming home in seven-over 43. He finished with eight pars and a birdie on his round. He bested the 19 golfers by three strokes in conditions that included rain and wind nearing 35 miles per hour.
  • John McCall went out in 42 coming home in 45 to shoot an 87 and finish sixth.
  • Ben Wiley posted a seventh place finish shooting an 89 (45-44), while Brody Fuhrey (103) and Kyle Murphy (108) rounded out the Canton contingent in 14th and 17th places, respectively.
  • The Roos finished in second place out of four teams with 360 strokes behind only MCLA (345). SUNY Cobleskill finished third (371) followed by host VTSU Johnson in fourth (477).
