HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Roos held a 5-1 shots on goal advantage in the first half but trailed 1-0 at intermission.
- Just over 13 minutes into the second half the Roos had a great chance for the equalizer. John Bustamante's initial shot was saved by John Jay keeper Davio Rossilevin. The rebound came right back to Bustamante who ripped another attempt toward the right corner but Rossilevin made an impressive diving save to his left to keep the visitors on top by one.
- Canton had another quality scoring chance with just over 18 minutes remaining when Shareef Stokely played a nice ball into the box and Eric Randall put a header toward the left corner of goal that was saved by Rossilevin.
- The scoring opportunities continued for the Roos with just over eight minutes remaining when a loose ball deflected to Matthew Brandes in the box. He rifled a shot through traffic toward net that was stopped by a defender's foot in front of goal. John Jay was able to hang on for the 1-0 victory.
