Roos Open SUNYAC Play Against Fredonia

Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's soccer team opened SUNYAC play against SUNY Fredonia on Saturday afternoon dropping the contest 9-0.  The Roos played a solid second half, allowing just three shots on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Fredonia scored seven goals in the first half, including three by Bronwyn Madden.
  • In the second half, the Roos defense stepped up, allowing just three shots on net.  Grace Mackey closed out the scoring, booting in her second of the game in the 71st minute.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Madden led all scorers with three goals, followed by Mackey's two.  Maddy Payne picked up three assists on the afternoon.
  • Senior Gabbie Flynn led the Roos with two shots on goal.
  • Senior Skylar Williams made six first-half saves for the Roos and was relieved by freshman Mackenzie Ryan was stopped one shot in the second half.  Abby Szymkowiak made four saves for the Blue Devils.

The Roos host Oswego State on Wednesday, October 2nd at 4:00 p.m.
