Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's soccer team opened SUNYAC play against SUNY Fredonia on Saturday afternoon dropping the contest 9-0.  The Roos played a solid second half, allowing just three shots on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Fredonia scored seven goals in the first half, including three by Bronwyn Madden.
• In the second half, the Roos defense stepped up, allowing just three shots on net.  Grace Mackey closed out the scoring, booting in her second of the game in the 71^st minute.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Madden led all scorers with three goals, followed by Mackey's two.  Maddy Payne picked up three assists on the afternoon.
• Senior Gabbie Flynn led the Roos with two shots on goal.
• Senior Skylar Williams made six first-half saves for the Roos and was relieved by freshman Mackenzie Ryan was stopped one shot in the second half.  Abby Szymkowiak made four saves for the Blue Devils.
