Skylar Williams made nine saves, but a strong first half carried visiting Oswego State to a 4-0 win against the SUNY Canton women's soccer team in a SUNYAC contest on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The visitors got on the board first in the ninth minute when Jackie Marquardt collected a failed clearance attempt by the Roos at the top of the box and buried a shot high past Williams.
- The Lakers doubled their lead in the 17th minute when Sabrina Schmitt played a nice cross in from the right corner as Kaylee Elliot placed a shot into the lower left corner.
- Oswego State made it 3-0 less than two minutes later when Emma Rechtorovic dribbled the ball towards the left end line and hit Elliot who put a one-timer into the right side of net.
- The Lakers concluded the scoring in the 30th minute when Marquardt played a nice touch pass to Erika Yancey in the box who quickly turned firing a shot into the right corner.
- The visitors held a 7-0 shots on goal advantage in the opening half taking a 4-0 lead into intermission.
- Oswego continued to control shots on goal 7-0 in the second half but seven stops from Williams led to the 4-0 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Lakers controlled shots (30-1), shots on goal (14-0) and corner kicks (8-0).
- Chamonix Jackson had the Roos lone shot attempt in the game.
- Elliot led the Lkaers with two goals while Marquardt finished with a goal and assist.
- Perri Anderson played the first half for Oswego earning the win, while Paytyn Crane played the final 45 minutes. Neither Laker keeper was forced to make a stop.
- Williams finished with nine saves in the loss, while the Roos made one defensive team save.
