HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos had a quality early chance 15 minutes in when Gavette hit Foster Hutchins with a nice through ball. Hutchins shot went just wide of the left post.
- Eight minutes later Martin Torales had a shot that struck off the cross bar and six minutes later Brandes' shot from long distance was tipped over the bar by Badger keeper Carlos Dominguez.
- Canton finally broke through in the 29th minute scoring off a set piece. Mason Holmes took the corner from the far side of the field finding Gavette at the near post who headed a shot past Dominguez.
- Just over a minute later the Badgers found the equalizer when Daniel Manning collected a loose ball off a corner kick and fired a shot into the net.
- The scoring barrage continued just under a minute later when Eric Randall dribbled past a defender finding Mosley on an early cross as he made an acrobatic volley scoring his second goal of the season.
- Johnson tied the game once again in the 29th minute off a set piece. Spencer Tergeoglou took a free kick from just inside midfield that was volleyed home by Oakley Francis to make it 2-2.
- In the seesaw battle Canton regained the lead with 25.9 seconds left in the first half. Stokely played a beautiful ball nearly two-thirds of the field that found John Bustamante in on the breakaway as he placed a shot past a charging Dominguez.
- The Roos held a 7-2 shots on goal advantage taking a 3-2 lead to intermission.
- Canton added a fourth goal just over five minutes into the second half when Gary Gutama found Owen Lebron in the right corner as he crossed a ball finding Chris Escobar in the box. He settled the ball down placing a shot high in the left corner for the 4-2 advantage.
- The Roos tacked on their fifth goal in the 55th minute when Gutama made a nice individual move through three Johnson defenders picking out Mosley on a cross at the left post as he headed home his second goal of the game.
- Canton tacked on another goal in the 73rd minute off another set piece. Torales played a cross in from the far corner as Gavette headed home his second of the game.
- The hosts concluded the scoring with just 11 seconds left when Gutama played a pass to Lleyton LaDue in the midfield area. He took a couple dribbles and found a cutting Nathan Springer for his first career goal and the 7-2 final.
