Canton, NY – Chris Escobar scored his second goal of the season and
Nolan Sullivan and
Jason Vela combined for a shutout to lead the SUNY Canton men's soccer team to a 1-0 win against Keuka College on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Canton got on the board first in the 24th minute when Owen Lebron played the ball up the right sideline. John Bustamante collected the ball in the near corner playing a cross into the box to Escobar. Escobar one-timed a shot high past Wolves keeper Cory Cangemi for the 1-0 lead.
- The Roos had another great chance with just over 13 minutes left in the opening half when Eric Randall's shot was saved from a tough angle from the right side.
- The Roos held a 3-2 shots on goal edge in the opening half and took a 1-0 lead into intermission.
- Canton had a great chance at an insurance goal in the 52nd minute when Mason Holmes drew a foul in the box resulting in a penalty kick. His PK struck off the center of the crossbar and out as the Wolves remained within a goal.
- The Roos held a 4-2 shots on goal edge in the second half, but it was Escobar's first half tally that held up for the 1-0 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Keuka held a slim 17-16 shots advantage, but the Roos controlled shots on goal, 7-4. Corner kicks were even at six apiece.
- Seven different Roos registered a shot on goal, while Kaleb Glessing and Anthony Pontello paced Keuka with two shots on target apiece.
- Sullivan made two saves in the first half for the win, while Vela stopped two shots over the final 45 minutes.
- Cangemi finished with six saves in the loss.
