Barone Leads Roos with Two Hits at Plattsburgh

Plattsburgh, NY – Nick Barone led the SUNY Canton bats with a pair of hits, but the Roos dropped an 8-1 non-conference game at Plattsburgh State on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Cardinals scored one run each in the first and third innings to open a 2-0 advantage early on.
  • Canton got on the board in the fourth when Barone scored after Brendan Finnegan reached on an error.
  • The hosts plated three runs each in the fifth and sixth innings for the 8-1 final.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Barone had two hits for the Roos, while John LaPorte, Matthew Brandes, Danny Santana, Alphonse Fuca and Finnegan had one each.
  • Ben Catrambone and Austin Caldwell had two hits each for the Cardinals with Caldwell driving in a pair of runs.
  • Tyler Kohn picked up the win for Plattsburgh tossing six innings without allowing an earned run as he struck out nine batters.
  • Kayden Guerin took the loss allowing one run in two innings with a strike out and walk.
