Waltham, MA – Alphonse Fuca led the SUNY Canton baseball team with a pair of hits on the day as the Roos closed out their 2024 season on the road against Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
GAME 1 – BOX SCORE

• The Lions scored one run in the first and added five in the second inning of the opener on Saturday.
• The Roos got on the board in the third when Nick Shoemaker reached on an error that scored Mike Henry.
• ENC added three more runs in the fifth inning for the 9-1 final.
• Fuca, Henry and John LaPorte had the lone hits for the Roos.
• Elvis Rojas, Francis Ferguson, Frank Landeiro and Matthew Serrata had two hits each for the Lions with Rojas and Ferguson driving in three runs each.
• Francis Ferguson threw the complete game for the win for ENC with nine strike outs and one walk in seven innings.
• Michael Sandarr took the loss allowing six runs on six hits and a walk in 1.1 innings.

 
GAME 2 – BOX SCORE

• The nightcap proved to be a tight affair through four innings with ENC scoring one run in the first inning.
• The Lions erupted for seven runs in the fifth on seven hits and two errors before scoring two more runs in the sixth.
• Canton's lone run of Game 2 came in the sixth when Maxwell Rose plated Fuca on an RBI single to left.
• Fuca, Rose and Brendan Finnegan had hits for Canton in the nightcap.
• Four players had two hits for the Lions as O'Neil Jimenez and Anderson Jimenez combined for four hits, three runs and seven RBI.
• Luke Descheneaux picked up the win tossing 4.1 innings in relief allowing one run with five strike outs.
• Kayden Guerin took the loss giving up one unearned run with three strike outs and a walk in four innings.
