Nick Shoemaker had four hits on the day reaching the 100 career hit milestone as the SUNY Canton baseball team split a NAC doubleheader against visiting Eastern Nazarene College on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- The Roos scored the first run of the game in the second when Maxwell Rose doubled down the left field line to score Alphonse Fuca who led off the inning with a double to right center.
- The Lions plated two runs in the third on a two RBI double before bringing six runners across in the fifth on a pair of RBI singles, a sacrifice fly and a three-run homer.
- Eastern Nazarene tacked on three more runs on another three-run dinger in the sixth and one in the seventh on an RBI single.
- Five players had one hit each for the Roos as Shoemaker, John LaPorte, Frank Nieto, Fuca and Rose all had a hit while Rose drove in the lone run. With his one hit Shoemaker reached 100 for his career.
- Elvis Rojas went 4-for-5 for the Lions, while Eduardo Labour was 3-for-4. O'Neil Jimenez and Frank Landeiro each hit three-run homers for the visitors.
- Francis Ferguson picked up the complete game win striking out 16 batters allowing one run and a walk.
- Daniel Aviles took the loss allowing seven runs, four of which were earned, with three strike outs and a walk in 4.2 innings. Â

GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
- The Roos got off to an early lead in the nightcap scoring three runs in the opening inning. Nick Barone plated Shoemaker on an RBI single, Danny Santana walked to bring across Rosado and Mike Henry scored Barone on a single up the middle.
- Canton tacked on another run in the third when Fuca brought home Matthew Brandes on a sacrifice fly.
- The Lions got on the board scoring a pair of unearned runs in the fifth to get within two, but the hosts immediately responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning.
- Santana used patience to draw his second walk and record his second RBI of the game scoring Brandes. Henry plated Barone and Brandes on a two RBI base hit and Shoemaker scored Santana on a sacrifice fly.
- ENC added one more unearned run in the sixth as the Roos earned the 8-3 win.
- Shoemaker went 3-for-3 with an RBI, Barone went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles and an RBI and Henry was 2-for-3 with three RBI. Rosado and Brandes had one hit each.
- Labour was the lone player to have multiple hits for ENC. Â
- Michael Sandarr picked up his first win of the season tossing 5.2 innings without allowing an earned run as he struck out three and walked two.
- Luke Descheneaux took the loss for the Lions giving up six earned runs with five strike outs and five walks in 4.1 innings.
