Plattsburgh, NY – Gabby Cunningham had a pair of hits driving in three runs in the nightcap on Tuesday, but the SUNY Canton softball team dropped a pair of games at Plattsburgh State on Tuesday.

GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- The Cardinals struck for five runs in the opening inning and added two each in the second and third innings before putting up a seven spot in the fourth en route to the convincing win in Tuesday's opener.
- Taryn Morrissey, Andrea Cary and Elly Cunningham registered the lone hits for Canton.
- Sara Isaacs paced Plattsburgh with a single, double and triple as she scored three times and drove in three more. Claire Palmer and Dolly Garguilo also had two hits each, while Garguilo and Julia Golino drove in a pair of runs each.
- Golino picked up the win on the mound with a complete game three hitter with nine strike outs.
- Caitlyn Reed took the loss for the Roos surrendering 11 earned runs with a strike out and nine walks.

- Plattsburgh continued to stay hot at the plate in the nightcap scoring three runs in the first, five in the second and two in the third. The Cardinals tacked on one run in the fourth and sixth innings.
- Canton brought four runners across in the fourth spearheaded by a bases-clearing three RBI double from Gabby Cunningham that scored Cary, Sarah Balcom and Torie Moore. Cary drew a leadoff walk to start the inning, Balcom singled and Moore was hit by a pitch. The Roos concluded their scoring in the fourth on a Morrissey RBI single to plate Gabby Cunningham. Â
- Gabby Cunningham went 2-for-3 in Game 2 to lead the Canton bats. Palmer and Emma Deo had three hits each for Plattsburgh, while Isaacs and Golino had two each. Golino hit a homer and drove in a game-best five runs.
- Morgan Ormerod picked up the complete game win allowing four runs with 11 strike outs and three walks.
- Reed was credited with the loss surrendering 10 earned runs with three strike outs and three walks.
