Caitlyn Reed had two hits each on the day, but the SUNY Canton softball team dropped a pair of tight games as host VTSU Johnson earned a pair of walk-off wins on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- The Roos got on the board first scoring three unearned runs in the opening inning after Torie Moore reached on an error by the center fielder with two outs as she, Cary and Balcom all scored.
- Canton tacked on another run in the fourth inning when Emma Hayes reached on an error to plate Ferrucci.
- The Badgers got within one scoring three unearned runs of their own in the fifth. The hosts tied things up with an RBI double in the sixth and scored the winning run in walk-off fashion on a Taylor Reddick RBI single to score Audrey Tembreull in the seventh.
- Ferrucci led the Roos with two hits, while Reed, Sophia Gundersen and Balcom had one each.
- Reddick, Grace Allen and Gabi Lafreniere had two hits each for Johnson.
- Regan Crowe picked up the win for the hosts allowing four unearned runs with six strike outs and one walk in seven innings.
- Reed took the loss allowing two earned runs with eight strike outs and two walks in 6.1 innings.
- Tuesday's opener was the final game of the NAC series for the two teams, while the second game was a non-conference tilt.

GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
- Johnson got on the board first on a sacrifice fly in the first frame in the nightcap.
- The Roos erupted for five runs in the fourth inning to open a 5-1 lead. Ace Rogers reached on an error as both Balcom and Moore scored. Ferrucci scored on a passed ball and Rogers scored after Hayes reached on an error. The scoring in the inning concluded when Reed singled home Hayes.
- The Badgers responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth to get within 5-3. Canton extended its lead to 6-3 in the sixth when Cary plated Gundersen on a base hit.
- Trailing by three Johnson got two back in the sixth and two more in the seventh as Crowe produced a two RBI walk-off double as the hosts won their second game of the day in walk-off fashion.
- Cary led the Roos with two hits, while Taryn Morrissey, Reed, Balcom, Rogers and Hayes had one each.
- Crowe picked up her second win of the day tossing two innings of one hit ball in relief with a strike out.
- Rogers took the loss surrendering seven runs with two strike outs and nine walks in 6.2 innings
