Andrea Cary all recorded two hits each, but the SUNY Canton softball team dropped a three-game weekend NAC series to SUNY Poly on Saturday and Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- The Roos got on the board first in the weekend's opener on Saturday evening. Ace Rogers walked to score Morrissey who led off the inning with an infield single.
- The Poly bats exploded for seven runs on four hits in the first inning.
- Canton responded with six runs in the second inning to tie things up at seven apiece after two. Morrissey reached on a throwing error as Sophia Gundersen scored all the way from first. Sarah Balcom walked home Morrissey and Torie Moore walked home Caitlyn Reed. Talor Ferrucci followed with a bases-clearing three RBI double to left center to score Cary, Balcom and Moore.
- Poly added three runs on a hit and two errors in the third inning.
- The Roos responded in the top half of the fourth scoring five runs to take a 12-10 lead midway through the fourth. Ferrucci singled to score Balcom, Emma Hayes reached on an error that scored Moore and Morrissey plated both Ferrucci and Hayes on a two RBI base hit.
- The Wildcats blew the game open with 10 runs on 10 hits in the fourth inning to earn the run-rule win in five innings.
- Morrissey and Ferrucci combined for four hits and drove in six runs.
- Taylor Hunter led Poly with three hits, while Ava Faragon, Amy DeSena, Joy Stevens and Kelly Powell all had two hits each.
- Stevens picked up the win tossing 1.2 innings in relief as she didn't allow a run and struck out three batters.
- Caitlyn Reed took the loss surrendering 17 earned runs with a strike out and nine walks.

GAME 2 – BOX SCORE

- The Wildcat bats stayed hot in Sunday's opener as they produced 11 runs on 15 hits in the five-inning win.
- SUNY Poly scored two in the first inning and added three in the third and six in the fourth in the victory.
- Balcom and Gundersen had the lone Canton hits.
- Kimberly Birmingham and Jadyn Childers had three hits each for Poly, while Stevens and Alivia Turk had two hits and two RBI each.
- Stevens was credited with her second consecutive win throwing a complete game two hitter with four strike outs.
- Reed took the loss allowing 11 runs with two walks in four innings.

GAME 3 – BOX SCORE

- SUNY Poly posted 16 runs on 13 hits in the nightcap Sunday while their pitching staff held Canton to just one hit.
- The Wildcats plated two runs in the first, six in the second and eight in the third in the five-inning run-rule win.
- Cary broke up the no-hitter with a single in the fourth inning.
- Turk had a monster game for Poly with three hits and drove in seven runs.
- Trinity Critelli picked up the win with 12 strike outs.
- Ace Rogers took the loss allowing 16 runs with five walks and a strike out.
