Canton, NY – Sarah Balcom recorded three doubles and drove in five runs to lead the Roos to a 12-4 win against VTSU Johnson in the nightcap as the Roos split a NAC doubleheader with the Badgers on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- Johnson got off to a quick start in the opener scoring a pair of runs in the first on a solo homer and an RBI single.
- The Badgers tacked on two more runs in the third on an RBI single with a second run scoring on a pair of errors. Johnson added another unearned run in the fourth inning and scored three more in the fifth for the run-rule win in five innings.
- Regan Crowe, Audrey Tembreull, Nikki Sweet and Matea Smith all had two hits each for the visitors.
- Crowe threw a no hitter with seven strike outs and two walks for the Badgers.
- Ace Rogers took the loss surrendering five earned runs with three strike outs in 4.2 innings.

GAME 2 – BOX SCORE

- The Canton bats exploded for 12 runs in the nightcap and they wasted no time getting the bats hot with nine runs over the first two innings.
- Balcom hit a bases-clearing three RBI double in the first to score Taryn Morrissey, Caitlyn Reed and Andrea Cary. Balcom and Priscilla Soule executed a nice double steal for Canton's fourth run of the inning and Talor Ferrucci concluded the scoring in the frame when she plated Soule on an RBI single.
- In the second inning Balcom brought home Morrissey and Reed on a two RBI double. Torie Moore followed with an RBI triple to left center to plate Balcom and Rogers scored Moore on an RBI ground out.
- Canton added a pair of runs in the third inning when Cary brought home Sophia Gundersen and Morrissey on a two RBI base hit up the middle.
- Johnson got on the board with three runs in the third and one in the fourth.
- The Roos would tack on a final run in the sixth on a Moore RBI single to bring home Balcom for the run-rule win in six innings.
- Balcom led the offense going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three runs and five RBI. Moore tallied two hits with a triple and two RBI. Cary chipped in a hit and two RBI.
- Turtle Trancosa and Taylor Reddick had two hits each for Johnson.
- Reed picked up her first win of the season throwing a complete game with three strike outs and three walks allowing four runs in six innings.
- Trancosa took the loss giving up three runs with three walks without recording an out.
