Auburndale, FL – Five different players recorded a hit for the Roos, but Salem State scored three runs each in the fourth and fifth innings on their way to a 9-0 win against the SUNY Canton baseball team on Thursday morning in Florida.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team was able to score a run as the pitchers controlled things over the first three innings.
- The Vikings broke through with three runs in the fourth on a double steal and a Ryan Barberi two run homer.
- Salem State tacked on three more runs in the fifth on an Owen Duggan RBI single and Barberi 2 RBI base hit.
- Mark Smith added a 2 RBI triple in the sixth and Aidan Lynch supplied a sacrifice fly in the seventh for the 9-0 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Nick Shoemaker had a double for the Roos, while John LaPorte, Derek Maldonado, Edilberto Rosado and Frank Nieto all had singles.
- Barberi was a perfect 4-for-4 with a home run, double and four RBI. Smith had a pair of hits and drove in two runs.
- Cam Fisher threw a complete game shutout for the Vikings allowing five hits with five strike outs and no walks over nine innings.
- Hunter LaValley took the loss for Canton allowing six runs with three strike outs and three walks over 4.2 innings. Javier Chico pitched a scoreless ninth inning with a strike out in relief.
