Molly Lenihan recorded 28 saves to lead the SUNY Canton women's hockey team to a 2-1 SUNYAC road win at Oswego State on Saturday. With the win the Roos take the season series from the Lakers winning two of the three matchups.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego State scored an unassisted goal off the stick of Simone Bednarik just 2:08 into the game. Canton held a 13-11 shots advantage in the opening period but trailed 1-0 after 20 minutes.
- The Roos knotted things at one apiece when Anna Pavlasova put home a goal off a loose puck in front for her second goal of the season. Danika Lalonde and Desiree Snook earned helpers on the play on the score at 9:06.
- Just over a minute later Canton struck again taking the lead for good at 10:26 when Snook scored a shorthanded goal on a breakaway.
- The Roos dominated shots 15-4 in the second period taking a 2-1 lead to second intermission.
- The Lakers pushed for the tying goal doubling up Canton 14-7 in shots in the third period but Lenihan made all 14 saves she faced to secure the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Roos held a 35-29 shots advantage in the game while Oswego controlled faceoffs 36-26.
- Canton went 0-for-2 on the power play but killed off all four of their penalties.
- Lenihan made 28 saves for the Roos included 14 crucial stops in the third period. Rachel Brase stopped all 13 shots she faced in the first period, while Lexi Levy made 20 saves allowing two goals in the final two periods.

The Roos close out the regular season on Tuesday when they visit Buffalo State in SUNYAC action at 7 p.m.
