Canton, NY – Eli Larson led the Roos at home with a strong performance in the SUNY Canton men's basketball SUNYAC debut, scoring 16 points while bringing down six rebounds as the Roos fell to the Lakers 98-70.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Early in the game the Roos went back-and-forth with the Lakers to keep it close. Kevin Goode Jr. scored a nice layup off of a Jevonte Williams rebound and outlet pass to even up the score 7-7 at the 14:26 mark in the first half.
- Oswego pulled ahead using a 22-9 run to go ahead by 13 before Williams responded with an old-fashioned three point play to cut the lead to 10 (29-19) with 6:15 remaining in the half.
- At the 1:08 mark Moe Biao made back-to-back free throws to cut the Oswego lead to eight points. The Lakers took a 45-33 lead into intermission.
- My'Kell Kaigler kicked off the scoring for the Roos at the 19:18 mark early in the second when he drained three-pointer. Goode Jr. followed up shortly after with a three a minute later that cut the Oswego lead to 10.
- Larson capped the scoring for the Roos with his team-leading 16th point draining both his free throws late in the second half.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Larson spearheaded the Roos with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists. Goode Jr. turned in a very noteworthy performance with 15 points, three assists and three rebounds.
- Oswego State had four players finish with double digits in points on the day in Xavier Allen (19), Billy Reyes (19), Ahkee Anderson (14) and Deacon Judd (12).
- Canton held the upper hand in rebounds (37-34), while Oswego held the edge in field goal percentage (54%), three-point percentage (47), assists (18-13), bench points (41-22), fastbreak points (15-6), points in the paint (36-30) and steals (6-2).
