Rochester, NY – Kevin Goode Jr. and
Eli Larson combined for 28 points as the Roos trimmed a first half double digit deficit to just a single point early in the second half but ultimately fell 74-63 loss to Penn State Behrend in the Woodcliff Hotel & Spa Tournament on Monday at St. John Fisher. With his 17 points Monday Goode Jr. has eclipsed the 1,000 career scoring milestone.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions opened up an early seven point lead less than six minutes into the game. Penn State Behrend would expand their lead to as many as 13 on multiple occasions.
- The Roos closed the final 3:24 of the half on a 9-5 run to get within 39-30 at intermission.
- Goode Jr. led the Roos with 10 points in the opening half, while Malaki Smith had six. Matthew McDonough and Tommy DiRienzo led Behrend with 10 and nine points, respectively.
- Goode Jr. scored the first five points of the second half to trim the deficit to four. After a Larson bucket in the paint and a Jevonte Williams three Canton was within just a single point at 41-40 just more than a minute into the second half.
- Behrend responded with a 7-0 run to open an eight point advantage as Canton wouldn't get closer than seven the rest of the way. The Lions extended their lead to as many as 17 en route to the 74-63 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Goode Jr. led the Roos with 17 points and added two assists and two steals. Larson recorded 11 points, seven rebounds and a game-high four blocks. Bryon Streb tallied eight points and Williams and Smith provided seven each.
- DiRienzo paced Behrend with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while McDonough (17) and Nate Edwards (15) also scored in double figures.
- The Lions shot nearly 56% from the field and 33% from three-point range, while holding Canton to marks of 39% and 24%, respectively. Behrend controlled rebounds (36-19), second chance points (14-6) and points in the paint (42-30). The Roos had the upper hand in bench points (20-14) and fast break points (6-0).
- The Roos turned the ball over just six times while forcing 12 Lion turnovers which led to a 14-7 advantage in points off turnovers.
GOODE JR. REACHES SCORING MILESTONE
- With his 17 points on Monday Goode Jr. eclipsed the 1,000 career scoring milestone for his career and he now has 1,011 career points. He has cored 376 of those 1,011 points in a SUNY Canton uniform with 219 coming at Alfred State (18-19), 153 at Villa Maria (20-21) and 263 at Genesee Community College (21-22).
