Anna Pavlasova scored her first goal of the season and sophomore
Molly Lenihan recorded 36 saves but the SUNY Canton women's hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to #6 Plattsburgh State on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kayson Ruegge opened the scoring for the Cardinals at 3:48 of the second period, blasting a shot through a Roo defender which deflected past Lenihan. The goal was assisted by Su-An Cho.
- Ciara Wall scored a power play marker for Plattsburgh midway through the third to put the Cardinals up 2-0.
- Pavlasova got the Roos on the board at 11:47 of the third, working hard on the fore-check and chipping a puck from behind the net off a Cardinal defender and past goaltender Chloe Lewis.
- Plattsburgh's Kate Conlon gave her team a two-goal cushion with just over two minutes to play, sending a shot just over the glove of Lenihan. Sydnee Francis and Taya Balfour assisted on the play.
- Canton was able to create a few solid chances with Lenihan pulled for the final 90 seconds but the Roos would ultimately fall 3-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Plattsburgh outshot the Roos 39-19, junior Danika Lalonde led the Roos with four shots.
- The Cardinals were 1/2 on the power play while Canton was not awarded any extra man opportunities.
- Plattsburgh won the faceoff battle 36-21, freshman Taryn Oloriz had nine wins on the draw to lead the Roos.
- Lenihan had 36 saves for the Roos and Lewis made 18 stops for the Cardinals.
