Canton, NY – Skylar Williams recorded 16 saves on the evening and the Roos battled throughout but visiting SUNY Potsdam earned a 4-1 SUNYAC win on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears got on the board first in the 16th minute. Emily Jordan took an initial shot from 25 yards out as Williams made a nice diving save. Adrianna Orlando picked up the loose ball near the left end line as she played a cross to Julia Tycott in the center of the box. Tycott placed a left-footed volley into the right corner of goal.
- With 4:15 left in the opening half the Roos had a great scoring chance off a set piece after Chamonix Jackson drew a foul. Chloe Stretton took the free kick ripping a shot from 25 yards out in the top left corner that was tipped over the crossbar by Potsdam keeper Caroline Vines.
- Canton knotted the game at one apiece scoring off a corner kick in the 42nd minute. Mayella Rubin took the corner from the far side into the box where the ball redirected off the head of a Potsdam defender into the net for an own goal.
- The Bears regained the lead with just more than a minute left in the opening half. Hailey Von Ahn dribbled down the right-hand side playing a cross into the box where Madison Wagner one-timed a shot past Williams.
- Potsdam held a 9-2 shots on goal advantage in the opening half but seven saves from Williams kept Canton within 2-1.
- Von Ahn made it 3-1 in favor of the Bears 10 minutes into the second half scoring off a rebound on an initial shot from Sarah Emmi that was saved by Williams.
- The Roos had a great chance to get back within one just over 11 minutes into the second half when Gabbie Flynn struck a great shot from up top of the 18, but Vines got a hand on the ball as it hit off the left post.
- Potsdam tacked on an insurance goal in the 67th minute scoring off another rebound. Orlando's initial shot from just outside the left side of the box was saved by Williams, but Tycott put home the rebound for her second tally of the game and fourth of the season.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Bears held the upper hand in shots (32-8), shots on goal (21-5) and corner kicks (10-3).
- Flynn led the Roos with two shots, both of which were on goal. Hailey Hassos also had two total shots, while Stretton and Rubin had one each.
- Tycott scored twice for the Bears, Von Ahn had a goal and assist, and Orlando chipped in two assists.
- Vines made four saves in the win for Potsdam, while Williams turned aside 16 shots in defeat.
