Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's soccer team clashed with visiting SUNY Morrisville in SUNYAC action on Wednesday afternoon but a pair of second half tallies led the Mustangs to a 2-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Twenty minutes in Mason Holmes had a scoring chance from a sharp angle on the right side but his shot was saved by Mustangs keeper Ronald Fatolou.
- Shots on goal were even at one apiece as the teams headed to intermission scoreless.
- Three minutes into the second half Canton had a great chance off a corner kick from the near sideline. Brandon Ardon took the corner finding Holmes in the box. His header was saved by Fatolou and Matthew Brandes took a shot on the rebound that was also saved.
- Morrisville got on the board in the 51st minute off a set piece on a free kick. Pedro Oliveira found a cutting Vakaba Cisse in the box who volleyed home a right-footed shot into the right corner of goal.
- The Mustangs tacked on a second goal in the 66th minute. Matt Pickles played a quick pass to Jesse Otu in the left corner as he crossed the ball into the box finding Juan Latorre who put home a volley into the right corner.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Roos held the advantage in shots (12-11), shots on goal (7-3), while Morrisville had the edge in corner kicks (3-1).
- Holmes led Canton with three shots on goal, while Christopher Guallpa, Hunter LaValley, Markel Mosley and Brandes had one each.
- Fatolou made seven saves in the clean sheet for Morrisville, while Nolan Sullivan stopped one shot in the loss.
