Potsdam, NY – Jevonte Williams and
Eli Larson combined for 42 points as host Clarkson pulled away late from the SUNY Canton men's basketball in a seesaw battle in non-conference action on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The hosts jumped out to an early 11-2 lead less than five minutes in and continued to lead by nine at 20-11 after a Braeden Burns dunk just under nine minutes into the contest.
- Canton stormed back on a 13-0 run to take a 24-20 lead four minutes later as four different players scored during the spurt.
- With the teams tied at 26 with just over four minutes to play Canton closed the opening half on a 9-4 run to take their largest lead of the half at 35-30 into intermission.
- Williams paced all players with 13 first-half points, while Larson had 10 points and eight boards. Burns led Clarkson with 12 points.
- The Roos opened up their largest lead of the game at eight (41-33) early in the second half after a Larson layup. The Knights stormed back on a 21-0 run to open their largest advantage of the contest at 54-41 with 11:47 to play.
- Canton continued to fight back in a seesaw battle with a 20-7 run of their own knotting things up at 61 apiece with 7:07 remaining after a Larson layup.
- The Knights opened a 72-64 advantage with 4:21 to play and pulled away down the stretch for the double digit win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Williams led the Roos with 24 points and added six rebounds shooting 10-for-19 from the field. Larson recorded his first double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Terrence Fields added nine points on 3-for-4 shooting from three. Kevin Goode Jr. chipped in eight points and four rebounds.
- Burns led all players with 28 points and tacked on nine rebounds hitting 11 of his 19 fields goals for Clarkson. Ryan Miles-Ferguson supplied 21 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Jack Dalgety and Matteo Sinon registered 12 points each.
- Clarkson shot over 48% from the field and 27% from three, while the Roos had marks of 41% and 36%. Canton had an edge in bench points (15-6), while the Knights had the upper hand in rebounds (42-36) and points in the paint (48-38).
