Canton, NY – Samantha Dayter scored a game-high 17 points and
Torie Moore recorded her second double-double of the season as the SUNY Canton women's basketball team cruised to an 85-50 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win against Maine Presque Isle on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos roared out to a 26-7 lead after the opening quarter and continued to control play in the second stanza taking a 44-18 lead into intermission.
- Hope Aniceto, Dayter and Sierra Pabo led Canton with 10, nine points and eight points, respectively, in the first half. Alexis Ireland and Lindsay Hamilton had five each for UMPI.
- The SUNY Canton bench gave the team a big lift in the second half outscoring the Owl reserves 17-9 after half en route to the convincing win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Dayter led all players with 17 points on 8-for-11 shooting and added three assists and three steals. Aniceto tallied 16 points, four assists and four boards, while Emma Perez registered 12 points, six assists and four rebounds. Moore finished with her second double-double of the season on 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Pabo and Pina posted eight points each.
- Ireland was the lone Owl in double figures with 16 points and added 10 rebounds, while Olivia Gray finished with nine points.
- Canton controlled rebounds (58-37), points in the paint (52-16), fast break points (16-2), second chance points (17-5), points off turnovers (20-10) and bench points (24-15). Â
