Platt’s First Goal of the Season Leads Roos Against Pacers

Canton, NY – Sophomore Shannon Platt scored her first goal of the season, and second of her career, in a 5-1 non-conference loss to Marywood University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Platt opened the scoring at 9:40 of the first half, with a deft move, stealing the ball from goalkeeper Mila Elash and placing the ball into the open net.
  • Marywood tied the game 1-1 on a penalty shot made by Sarah Kretchmer at 15:27 mark.
  • Riley Mulherin put the pacers on top 2-1, burying a cross from Caroline Walters past a diving Skylar Williams.
  • Marywood closed out the first half scoring on Mulherin's second goal of the game, when she snuck behind the defense and hammered a shot in the lower left corner.
  • Walters increased the lead for the Pacers to 4-1 five minutes into the second half and Mulherin capped off her day with a hat trick, scoring with just 50 seconds remaining in the game to make the final 5-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Williams finished the game with 13 saves and Elash did not register a save for the Pacers.
