Owen Kwong had a strong outing in net stopping eight shots, but the SUNY Canton men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting SUNY Poly in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kwong was impressive in the opening half for the Roos making numerous saves from point blank range. The senior keeper made two consecutive saves on laser shots over a two minute stretch.
- With less than a minute left in the opening half the Wildcats broke through as Edgar Gomez scored on a one touch volley off a cross from Abus Mohamed.
- SUNY Poly held a 5-2 shots on goal advantage in the opening half taking a 1-0 lead into intermission.
- The Wildcats doubled their lead at the 68 minute mark when Jael Casimir and Jhonny Theze connected on a quick 1-2 pass as Theze fed Abus Mohamed Ali in on the break as he beat Kwong.
- With 16 minutes remaining Brennan Harmer had a nice shot that was turned aside by Poly keeper Ryan Primus.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- SUNY Poly had the upper hand in shots on goal (10-4) and corner kicks (8-5).
- Chris Escobar, Jason Hernandez, Eric Randall and Harmer had one shot on goal each for Canton.
- Primus made four saves in the shutout for the Wildcats, while Kwong stopped four shots in each half for the Roos.
